Biography of Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo
Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo was born to a family of Mo Masters and yogis. This illustrious lineage is presently headed by Lama Kalsang Rinpoche, who is Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo's father. Lama Kalsang Rinpoche attained his insight and wisdom as a recognized Tibetan Healer through devotion to the meditation practices of the Karma Kagyu tradition, as well as his personal family's history and experience with their unique approach to the Mo and healings.
Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo's grandfather, Chadral Pama Gyurme was also a highly accomplished yogi, Vajrayana Chod and Divination master. The term "Chadral" is a title of respect given to a person who lives a meditative life of renunciation high in the holy mountains of Tibet. Thus, Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo's inheritance includes an historic and proven method of both formal meditation practices and Mo for Divination and Healing.
Because of his illustrious family, Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo's earliest memories include the activity of Mo Divination. In addition to this immersion in the technique and method of Mo Divination, Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo was ordained as a Monk in the Drikung Kargyu monastic lineage at the age of six. He received all the main and important Drikung Kargyu lineage teachings during his many years at the monastery.
Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo learned the study and practices of meditation from the Drikung Kargyu lineage teachings and his heart teachings from his father. His father Lama Kalsang Rinpoche further taught Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo, his second eldest son, specific healing techniques and practices known only in the family lineage. As per the Tibetan tradition, Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo spent many years at his father's side, learning and performing the actual practices of Mo Divination and Healings.
These two roots, the Drikung Kargyu lineage of his formal meditation training and the family's own lineage methods of Mo for Healing and Divination fused in a highly enriched blend which shapes Yogi Wangpo Kalsang's capactiy as both a healer and divination master.
After completing his formal monastic studies Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo left to begin his life as a yogi. He married and together he and his wife began a family. In 1989 he completed a full Mo Retreat and began to practice as a healer.
Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo began to travel to the U.S. and Canada and eventually settled with his family in Canada in 1999.
For the last 17 years Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo has lived his life in service to the public. As a result of his open-hearted enthusiasm for the Mo as a healing and divination method, Ngagpa Choekyi Wangpo has helped people all over the world.
